CNRA: Strategic Partner

The CNRA is organized on a regional basis to better address local specificities. It has several research sites distributed across the national territory.

The CNRA (National Centre for Agronomic Research) of Côte d’Ivoire is an agricultural research institution created in 1998 to improve agricultural and forestry production systems. It focuses on enhancing export and food crops, developing new varieties, training producers, and supporting farmers in adopting modern, sustainable, and environmentally friendly techniques. Its mission is to strengthen food sovereignty and contribute to the economic development of Côte d’Ivoire through scientific innovation.

MISSIONS: :

·         Improve the productivity of export and food crops.

·         Develop and promote new exportable products.

·         Intensify and stabilize livestock systems.

·         Develop environmentally friendly techniques.

·         Improve and diversify animal-based products.

·   Stimulate technological research, particularly in the conservation and processing of agricultural products.

·         Support vulnerable social groups, such as small-scale farmers, through training.

ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Production:

The CNRA produces grafted plants (mango, cashew, citrus), seeds (maize, forest species), and fruits, according to the report from the Regional Directorate of Korhogo.

Innovation:

It develops technological innovations and designs processing and preservation methods to increase yields and food self-sufficiency, as highlighted in an explanatory video.

Research:

Research is conducted on various crops such as cocoa, banana, coffee, oil palm, and cassava, according to the YouTube video and the information document.

Training :

The CNRA trains nursery operators, fruit producers, and supervises students at various educational levels,
